Students had the first 30 minutes of class to read and annotate today's article of the week, write a response in their notebooks, and read independently. I met with individual students for reading conferences during this time.

Today's Article: "Afghanistan: The Endless War"

We began working on the Unit 1 Performance Task. Students will select a topic, find supporting texts, and write a persuasive letter/email or essay/editorial. We'll be working on this in class for the next several days.
