March 27

Students used the first 30 minutes of class to read, annotate, and respond to today's article of the week. When they finished, they had time to read independently. I met with individual students during this time for reading conferences.

Today's article: "Can Human Mortality Be Hacked?"

We looked at the blueprint for the upcoming STAAR test, scheduled for April 11. Students will begin a practice STAAR test in class tomorrow.

We had a mini-lesson on commas. Students should incorporate this learning into their revised essay. Students had the remaining class time to work on the performance task 1 revision.
